AUSNEWZ is a magazine I have designed for Holcim, an international concrete and aggregates company. When I came on board the magazine had been going for a few issues and had a set style. The layout of the grid made it difficult to make interesting layouts and the fonts were very dated.  This is a recent redesign. I’ve updated the fonts choosing Teko, a free google font, and Avant Garde. Both have a geometric feel and work nicely together. I used Franklin Gothic for the body copy as its narrower and would allow me to fit the articles into a small space. Photographs for AUSNEWZ are supplied by Holcim or downloaded from stock photo sites. The magazine was usually 24 pages and all the sections were colour-coded with a one page divider.
